A Question On Ella At The End
Why was she there in court, Was it to get the lover back or was she there because she and Les had gotten back together and she was supporting him. Was this covered in the book. I cannot figure out why this case all of a sudden was of interest to her. Does anyone else feel she knew or at least suspected he had something to do with his former gals death because he was following it in the newspaper.
Also it seems as if quite a bit is missing from the film, such as we never see the break-up scene between Ella and the lover. Did he leave on his own or she asked him to leave. And how would she get Les to return since he knew he was impotent or at least had trouble making love to her. And had to know he was there just because she needed help with the barge.
