adam is evil

he certainly doesn't seem to care enough about the damage left in the wake of his lustful pursuits.
and i believe he is, in fact, guilty of her murder, if not legally then morally. he knew she could not swim and he chose not to dive in to get her when his instincts told him to save a drowning person (the kid on the barge, who he dislikes yet does not hesitate to rescue). thus it's clear he intended for her to drown, thinking himself absolved of any responsibility simply because he did not push her. but he could have saved her and chose not to.
the fact that he'd rather satiate his lust (and cuckold a friend and decent person) right at the moment when he should be either mourning the loss of a close person (and the mother of his would be son) or feeling some guilt about not saving her shows that adam is a bad person, if not a sociopath
i think he is incapable of feeling any real guilt or empathy. i dont think his letter to the judge/prosecution goes nearly far enough to show real concern for the plumber
it seems clear that adam is a man who will go on leaving wreckage in the lives of others in the wake of his life
