Totally pointless remake

If you're going to remake a film, it's a good idea to try to go for something a little different, instead of repeating it shot for shot at times. What is different only makes this remake worse. Everyone is caricatured and the special effects pale in comparison to Nakata's Ringu (or Verbinski's Ring for that matter)... in short, the f/x suck.
