This came out in theatres?

I'll admit I wasn't a huge fan when it came out, but I thought I'd have seen a trailer or something. As far as I could tell it came straight-to-video. That's what I thought for a while. Did it come out in theatres in the UK?

Really? Worst film you ever saw? Well, my next one will be better. Hello? Hello?

Well, in my view they did show the trailer in Cartoon Network.

Yes; I watched this movie in a theater myself. It was interesting to see a diverse audience; both men and women and kids and adults came to see it. Great experience.

It was shown in Scandinavia as well. Not sure if it did well or not.

Am I the only one who remembers seeing the TV spots all the time before it came out? I was excited because I didn't get Cartoon Network then, but loved the series (seeing episodes at a friend's house during sleep overs and stuff), but I was too embarrassed to go see it in the theater because I'm a guy and at the time I was 18 years old, so I felt odd seeing it in the theater.

I was young, because I hardly remember seeing it in theaters, perfectly natural too be embarrased, I was when I got into the show for a bit last year

I think I saw it in theaters though

I was really embarrassed when I bought the DVD used at a video store from a girl I went to high school with...

But you know what? I've gotten over it, I bought the whole series early last year when it came out and have never regretted it. I've also bought the movie from the U.K. to get it in widescreen which the US version isn't, it's in full screen (boo!)

Yeah it was shown in theaters (in America at least). It bombed big time though. There were trailers all the time on CN.

reply

The sad truth probably was it was one of the earliest hints CN over-valued themselves. I'm sure there were plenty good ratings for PPG on tv...problem being how many of them really liked it that much to want a movie?

I was one of them of course. Watched the channel religiously. Watched the girls all the time, never once thought about asking to see the movie. Because PPG and other originals just weren't my favorites.

It's kind of a shame all their hopes at the time hinged on this. But it all came full circle when Cartoon Network originals suffer from not being able to rack up dvd sales. Mostly the same issue, yeah we watched them, yeah we liked them, but not enough to go out of our way to spend money on.

It had a some what limited theater run. I had to take my daughter to a theater over an hour away from us. She was a huge fan of the show and this was the first movie she ever saw in a theater.

reply

Not that I know.

I did see it in theatre here in the USA. We loved it.
