Two questions. SPOILER ALERT!

Hi Everyone!

I loved this movie, just like the rest of you. However, I have two questions, which I can hopefully ask without confusing anyone.

1. Why was their problems between the villain and the Plain People? Did the land get taken away from him and given to Rebecca and her people, or did someone in his family sell it to them, making him angry and on a mission to get it back? Something else? I heard one of the characters mention "fences," but I didn't hear what was said. Either my TV/Cable or Hallmark sound was a bit muffled.

2. What happened after Rebecca and Johnny got married? I watched the second showing of this movie, which happened to be at 1:00 a.m., instead of the first showing at 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately, a 2 1/2 hour movie shown at 1:00 a.m. gets cut off at 3:00 a.m. in my area. (Hallmark then goes to those infamous and annoying infomercials.

Any help will be appreciated!

As far as I know in the west there were Farmers and Ranchers
Ranchers raised cattle and horses and farmers raised everything else.
Before all the land was bought up by farmers the ranchers would let their herds range everywhere with just a brand to sort them out later when all the herds were mixed after ranging.
When farmers came they fenced off their land and soon there was no way to get the herds to the range lands left and then there were almost no ranges left.
I think sheep have a different effect on the land then horses and cattle too. They don't move around as much so they damage the land more.
