Incredible movie

Wow, what a masterpiece this one is!
The only version of this that I could find was the Thai version. Subtitles were poorly done with countless spelling and grammatical mistakes, but that aside... this movie was just amazing! Cecilia Cheung's best performance without doubt and Choi Min-Sik... he has to be one of the most talented and consistent actors out there right now. Stole every scene he appeared in, just like he did in 'Oldboy' and 'Crying Fist'.
The ending was so beautiful/heartbreaking... really well done. Easily one of the best movies I have seen over the last 5 years or so and I can't recommend it enough.

To quote a reviewer after watching this movie for the first time..." My Heart Bled Tears"...............say no more

Oh man. I wept after this movie. What can I say, this movie was such a hard movie to watch. I didn't like the way it ended but I loved the ending. Thats all I can say, it was a great movie, but I don't see myself watching it again. I don't want to, it'll ruin the impact.

Just re-watched it*, and it was well worth it, if heartbreaking

A fine (subtle) performance by Cecilia Cheung. And Min-sik Choi, arguably the best Korean actor at the moment, did not disappoint either.

Here's to all the Failans in this world

* BTW the "Special Edition" Koren DVD has some nice extras on the making of the film.

..."My Heart Bled Tears"...

Oh my goodness... that just about sums it up.

I watched a MV with scenes from Failan and that made me tear up. It is a beautiful film, and I much prefer Choi's performance in this than in Oldboy.

They're making you one of them, my peacock...

The director presses every button which is possible in film making to make people cry. Sounds simple. I sat there and knew what he wanted to. But at the end I cried like a child. What a wonderful movie!

Failan is one of the best movie of the decade and one of most Heartbreaking Romance Film EVER made !

But Why ? The story may be unreal but Choi Min-Sik is the man ! It's a great exemple of Deep acting, he is TOTALLY believable, the way that Choi Min-Sik shows his " love " and his sadness for Failan is truly remarquable, his face is full of expression and he makes the audience really understand his character. The man has so much depth and truth in him and he can plays the pathetic looser better than anyone else ! I'm a huge fan of him and his acting skills (Oldboy, Painted Fire, Shiri, Crying Fist and Happy End) he is one of the best actors I've ever seen ! And Cecilia Cheung (I'm not a fan) is wonderful here, she is perfect for the role of Failan !

Yeah, this is a masterpiece. I have seen it twice and both the time i cried. It was a captivating movie and one of the best i've seen. It was the most emotional film about love. I couldn't stop thinking about it when i first saw it. Whenever i picture Kang Failan, my eyes watered. It was remarkable movie. The second time i saw it i paid more attention to the first half too and it was very good as well. All the actors were very good but Choi Min-Sik and Cheung were the best unarguably. Choi Min-sik is a great actor and very versatile too, his performance seemed easy and natural and all the emotions were portrayed exceedingly well. Cheung's innocence was really heart touching and her feelings and goodwill really wrenched my heart with love and affection. Kangjae was not a bad person and he showed that he had feelings for others when he was reminded of the human inside him by Failan.
