I've started watching it and yeah, I can see some foreshadowing to Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. Talking cats, a magic wand, a secret identity.

I haven't seen the even earlier Sally the Witch, but I might seek it out when I'm done with Creamy Mami. Then again, I might try to find some of CM's imitators, like Fancy La La.
