plano tx

In the begining of the movie it talks about the movie being based loosely on real events. Plano is about 30 mins from where i live in Dallas, and i do rember all the kids dieing over there, i think it was the mid 90's. I didnt know them personaly but i do rember it being all over the news, and it was so werid to see it happening over there, its all rich ass kids and rich ass people there, its all uper class. I did see that mtv special, but it was a long ass time ago.

I live in the Dallas area. I was young when all of this happened, but my mom said she remembered seeing it on the news.

I take it you've never been to east Plano. I have yet to see a "rich ass kid" or "rich ass people" there. You're an idiot.

Candycanegirl, I live in Plano on the west side. It's not all "rich ass kids" that died from the heroin! East Plano is mostly middle class and some upper class! But most of the upper class/rich people are on the West side of Plano near Willow Bend(Preston)! One of my good friends died from a herion overdose and she was not rich! So before you leave a comment, I suggest you get your facts straight! Considering you don't even live in Plano!!

Let me correct myself, East Plano doesn't have any rich people/kids, at least none that I have seen/known. But the main area where rich people/kids are is West Plano!

It can look a bit strange to see kids from good neighborhoods having problems with a drug like Heroin, and I think that is partially due to stereotypes we have about what 'kind' of person would do Heroin, and that kind of stereotype can be dangerous.

Heroin can take anyone, rich or poor, well-adjusted or dysfunctional.

It's one of those drugs that you don't want to 'sample' because of its deadly hook.

A user can start out with money, but once hooked, statistically will end up poor and dead.

I think this movie does a fairly good job of shattering some stereotypes about Heroin users.
