Pretty much a slam dunk, YOU WILL DIE!. "DON'T DO THIS! Especially
with methadone, which builds up in your system, Don't ever mix opiates
and sedatives unless you are already a raging addict of one of them
and start off at the very smallest amount of the second or YOU WILL
DIE!!!!! I lost 12 friends in an 18 month period, all but one from
mixing opiates and benzos--they were all addicts, except the one that
died from a heroin overdose in Thailand-- and that doesn't count any
of the friends of friends that I heard about during The Great Junky
Purge of 2001-2003.

There is also a good friend of mine who I refuse to party with anymore
(although I am really trying to come off of opiates and especially
stop injecting them) because he has such a high opiate tolerance, is
no longer addicted to opiates--or so he says--and lies to me when I
ask him about his current Xanax use. I feel like I have to go through
the whole diagnosis of sedative intoxication on him if I were to party
with him, but that can be defeated by taking the Xanax right before
doing the opiates. I had to keep him alive one night after getting
high with him a a specific sedative where he had taken 30 mgs of
methadone prior to taking them, but had used 8 mgs of Xanax the night
before. My wife had to rush over there with my Narcan and Buprenex
(which is the antagonist I would have given him so he could suffer
like a lying son of a bitch (Schadenfreude), because I found out from
his mother that the previous time he took this sedative; he was rushed
to the hospital by ambulance because he was basically comatose,
although still breathing enough to keep himself alive. This *beep*
one of my best friends from my Grateful Dead days, post undergrad when
I was working on ferrets, told me he didn't get off from the sedative.
The lying and his obsession with the people from those Grateful Days
learning that he still does drugs, have strained our friendship, even
though straight or just on opiates, he is a great joy to talk with and
have dinner with. Since very few of the people who once were his
friends, give this very nice, very intelligent and friendly person
under normal conditions, a second of thought during their day, it is
sad that he worries or even cares so much about them and their
thoughts on him. They know he is using drugs; he thinks he can hide it
from them.

He lives in the past in a house left to him right by the governor's
mansion, worth about $1.5 million dollars, bequeathed to him by his
grandfather. He still lives with his mother and he struggles
financially because the house, being built circa 1920, is falling
apart, and he is afraid to sell too many drugs because of a previous
drug arrest. I suggest to him once and a while to sell the house, take
$500,000 and by yourself a nice house, take another $500,000 and buy
your mom a house, and take the rest and invest it or put it in the
bank. But he gets up and starts pacing the floor and touching door
posts 4 times (classic text book OCD) and tries to find his cigarettes
in his filthy house, which is the eye sore of the neighborhood, but is
located on a great piece of property in just the right area to make
the house itself irrelevant. The land has the value.

I speak of him because I am afraid he is going to die because of his
ignorance of the pharmacology of mixing different classes of drugs
which synergistically affect the medulla and brainstem; these parts of
the brain are responsible for the signal telling your diaphragm to
expand, which causes your lungs to inhale, and then they give the
signal to contract, causing your lungs to exhale. Other factors affect
the rate of breathing like CO2 concentration, but without those
signals to the diaphragm, YOU DIE!

Very true, opioids mixed with any other kind of CNS depressant is a death trip waiting to happen. Never mix drugs unless you KNOW what you are doing people, and most of you frankly DO NOT.

Yes, this is 'based' in Plano, Texas which is just northeast of the city of Dallas. 10 years ago, the town was much smaller though. I was too young at the time for this so I don't know too much about it but apparently there was an influx of higher quality black tar heroin than usual and kids being the stupid things they are abused the drug and mixed it with god knows what and lots of kids died as a result.

It seems the movie was filmed in Calgary Alberta Canada though.

Nowadays(2010), there is the new 'epidemic' of 'cheese' heroin in Dallas, which I personally HATE and think it is the most absurd form of heroin there is. It's black tar heroin mixed with tylenol PM/diphenhydramine/inactive powder so it is snortable, which the Mexicans think will make people want to try it more, though all they are doing is cutting an already low purity drug like BTH and making it even LESS PURE, like less than 5% pure. It's like 'diet heroin ultra-lite' lol but seriously, it is dangerous to cut the heroin with that *beep* Even doing a typically crude form of heroin like black tar is bad enough. It seems to only be the teenagers that do this anyways. All the real heroin users IV it, the tar not the 'cheese' that is.

So true about what you said about people on methadone eating Xanax. I have been on methadone for a long time and been to different clinics for guest dosing and notice that every clinic I have been at, somebody will be selling Xanax. Also when I was using, I would mix Xanax with my dope to get a better high which in hindsight was really stupid.
