Only one?

Was I the only one who liked this? I think there should have been a Murder In Small Town X part 2 or something. It would be awesome to see a new (and better) cast of people to figure out the crime.

Yes, you are thinking exatcly what I have been thinking for the past 2 years, where is another one, that show was killer, had me thinking all through to the end, which I made the wrong decision about by the way (coulda swore it was the reporter guy), who knew, anyway, kicka ss showk coulda done better with maybe a better cast of the towns folk, but as a first run show, very well done, would watch it again if I could, good times that show, good times.

Kinda brings me to another point, are only non-nielsen families watching these shows and not get represented properly and therefore being shafted?

We loved this show and have been hoping that they would do another one. I'm sure the production must have been time consuming and difficult because they had to cast so many people and give the contestants some basic investigative training, and of course that's after they write the plot, scout and secure a town as a location, etc etc etc. Still, we are hoping it will happen again sometime. This reality show was, for a change, unique.

I even emailed the people behind it (I don't remember for sure but I think it was Fox) and asked if there were any plans for a second one, and they said that at time there were not. That was at least a year ago.

No, you are deffinitely not the only one. Both me and my college roommate along with several other of my college friends all loved this show. I had TiVo and so I always had the episodes available to watch for any of my friends who missed it, so we really got into it.

Just a few things I would change:

1-get players who are more mentally stable ... lol
2-allow the players free range to go and do as they please ... don't "lead" them so much
3-ACTUALLY KILL ONE OF THE PLAYERS FOR WANDERING OFF .. they never did use that feature
4-film down here in Texas so I can check out the filming (maybe be in it :))

This was definetly more original than the Average Joe's and Fear Factors, but I don't think the ratings were that good.

Yes, but they should still make another one, I'd watch it, hell yeah I would, every week, just to see if I was correct in picking the murderer type guy.

They just finished airing it here in Israel, I loved it! I really hope they'll make another season. It was the most exciting thing on tv I've seen in a long while.

I loved the show. Even though i only saw half of it. I wish they would make a second one or release the first one on dvd.

Having it it Texas would be alsome, they could have a texas-chainsaw theme.

it's funny that you mentioned that. Tonight (actually literally 3 mins ago) i just got done transfering the first episode over to dvd (have them all taped from original airings, although i do not think they were ever re-aired).--

I also think that due to Angels death they might not release this on dvd officially, and the fact that the ratings were not so good, in the end FOX would probably end up losing money on the dvd itself- but you never know. In the meantime we are left to doing it ourselves

You know what I think would be a good idea? For FOX to release it on DVD and have all proceeds go to a charity having to do with 9/11.

reply

What on earth does that have to do with Murder In Small Town X? 9/11 has absolutely nothing to do with this show. That would be like taking an R rated movie and giving the proceeds to a children's charity. 9/11 is in the past. We don't need to dwell on it. Move on.

I said what I said because Angel Juarbe, who was the winner of this show was a NYC firefighter and was killed in the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11. I only said this because IF they do decide to release a DVD of this show that would be something fitting to do with the proceeds, since the winner was killed due to the acts of that day.

Also, let me just say, this is NOT something that I DWELL on. I read the posts up above and this thought just happened to enter my head and I thought that if it were released that this would be a good idea.

I am sorry that you apparently don't agree with me. As for moving on, do you really think anyone could completely move on from the events of that day? I have to say, that I think it was rather inconsiderate of you to say that.

reply

Sorry about being so rude. I had just had a really bad day at work and was not in the best of moods. I also want to apologize because I didn't know that the winner was a NYC firefighter that died in 9/11. I do still think that the world needs to come to terms with the day though and move past that point in our lives. Sorry if I offended in anyway.

I remember watching this show back in middle school, it was awesome. I loved the difference in all the investigators of the show, that Jeff guy was crazy man lol. All i can remember is him saying "I know it's not me tonight baby!", and he went into the house kicking down the door and screaming like a maniac, i was laughing so hard. I wish they had this show on DVD, because i only taped the season finale, while it was great i want all the episodes because i remember it being a cool show.

reply

I have the whole series on tape

I loved this show! It was like CSI & Clue....the best reality show I've seen....why do they only make one of this one, but 3 Adverage Joes?

reply

The ratings were bad and I assume FOX doesn't think a second would do well either. Murder sounds like a very time-consuming and costly show to run and perhaps the heads of FOX don't think it's worth it. I personally think it's prime time to bring it back; almost no one really remembers it and I do think it would go much better this time around. I mean, come on... A murder mystery/reality show? I'm sure it would be a welcome bit of variety in the sea of "Who's Your Daddy?" and other crap like that.....
