Someone help me out. I watched this show pretty regularly when it first aired on Fox back in '01. And I think it aired on Tuesdays and I was anticipating the next episode but we all know what happened on Tuesday September 11. My question is did the show ever resume? because i cant remember it ever coming back on the air. Plus, incidently, i read on another post here that the eventual winner of the show was a firefighter who died on 9/11. if that's true, i cant imagine the show *ever* returning to complete it's run. Any answers on this? thanks

the show ended the week before 9-11 and yes the firefighter that died did win

yes, the final episode was aired, of course, and i think i remember it being dedicated to the memory of Angel and his firefighting buddies.

As for a sequel, god i hope so, cause i liked the show. but i think thye might not out of respect for the winner. but you know, all this talk about returning to normal...

tip for next time: get better contestants. :D

I watched this show in its entirety, and loved it. As christinaroot04 said, the last episode aired on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 and yes, Angel was the winner and he later died in the September 11 terrorist attacks. I remember listening to his exit interview online, and when asked what his future plans were, he said something along the lines of, "I'm going to be a beach bum for about a week, and then I'm going to be a firefighter for the rest of my life." Very chilling indeed. Interestingly, the show's finale was originally supposed to air on September 11, but due to poor ratings, the network decided to air the last two episodes back-to-back on September 4. The producers posted something on the MISTX website shortly after September 11, notifying the public that Angel was missing and they dedicated the show to him, but that didn't happen on any broadcast of the show. His body was found in late November 2001. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your help. I couldve sworn the last episode wasnt a two-parter. I guess I shouldve kept watching after the first hour. LOL

I don't know where you heard they found angels body because i check this pretty regular i know its been about 15 months and where they list that stuff (i need to find again my hard drive died with the web address) he's still listed among the missing presumed dead because no body had been found nor any parts with his dna.

I just wish Fox would put it up under a "retro shows" area of their site to watch on demand. But I think Fox would rather sweep it under the rug since they got caught with their pants down when their own "evidence" contradicted who they ultimately revealed as the killer. Allan should have won, but something happened on the production end, either accidental or intentional. But the controversy doesn't really matter, the show is still cool as hell. The townspeople must have loved being a part of that.
