Sweet, Well-Acted, Beautifully Filmed Family Film

Tom & Thomas is a jewel of a family film.

Beautiful outdoor photo direction, beautiful cityscape and holiday images in England and the Netherlands, the interiour design of Paul's (Thomas' father) apartment and his artwork was very aesthetic, exemplory acting by Aaron Johnson, smooth transitions between the scenes that depict Thomas experiencing and reacting to Tom's physical situations, realistic and solidly-crafted plot construct and denouement, the adoption crime ring involving the kidnapping and smuggling of children was woven into the plot construct subtlely which allowed viewers to logically deduce the crime that was being committed and enabled children viewers to realize what was occurring without scaring them, traditional Dickensonian elements permeate the film, and positive themes of endurance and belief and hope makes this film a worthwhile delight during both the December holidays and all-year-round.

Extremely minimal and implied violence, no nudity or sex or sexuality or sexual themes, no profanity, although in a few scenes the characters wanted to shout a profane word/phrase but did not, beautiful family film.

Thank you Sean Bean for acting in this fine family-genre film, I am sure you felt your name would bring the film accolades of attention that it definitely deserves and I am disheartened that has not received this attention, and thank you Esmé Lammers for your Dickensonian vision and, once again, beautiful photo direction.

And thank you Paul M. Van Brugge for the excellent soundtrack, your orchestrations were vibrant and rhythmic and lively, please release the score on CD...
