Directors Cut minus the god damn playground scene..

..would be as solid a superhero film you could get. I just don't understand why
that was left in.

I only watched it because I'm already having major withdrawal from the Netflix show,I remember seeing the TC back in 2003 & thinking wtf did I just watch so glad I've seen it now.

Agreed. The playground scene is laughably bad. The rest of the film is not bad at all.

I kind of prefer Matt Murdock pretending to be an incompetent blind man to avoid tipping anyone off much the way Bruce Wayne acts like a flake and Clark Kent acts like a nerd.

What's wrong with the playground scene?

reply

I've wondered that myself. My guess is that someone criticized it, then everyone else chimed in because they wanted to be cool too.

the choreography is sh!t

Essentially, like in Catwoman the next year, it's way too obvious the protagonist has superpowers and it makes the characters look dumb for not being reckless and/or not realizing the super-abilities and the viewers think the filmmakers are dumb and/or think they are.

Agreed, some kind of 'final cut' without the playground scene(not sure exactly how the editing of the film could get around it) and WITHOUT Matt finding the braille necklace at the end would be significantly improved. Include absolutely zero hints that Elektra may come back to life or be alive...that would help the film as would the removal of the playground scene.
