Does Anyone Like This Nowadays?

I know back then it was panned because it was serious and dark, but do you guys like it nowadays? I know I do.

I liked it when it originally came out. The director's cut is even better.

I liked it a little until the Daredevil series came out on Netflix. Now I realize just how much this movie sucked lol

No offense but that's really, really, really stupid.

I liked the movie back in 2003 and still somewhat like it now.

It's a fun(you hear that Nolan? FUN?) entertaining comic book film.

Some people enjoy generic comic book movies with a tween flair to them...I'm not one of those people. Christopher Nolan made The Dark Knight Trilogy. Oneof the most successful comic book trilogies to date. So idk wtf you're talking about when you suggest they weren't entertaining!?!

So your against fun. You must be really popular at parties.

You're right!!! Compared to Netflix series, this is subpar...

Agree, though I wouldn't say it sucked, just that it looks sooooooo inferior by comparison. I'm not an Affleck fan but I didn't remember finding him laughable in this. His fights were just too neat, too safe and orchestrated, cartoonish. (Garner too if I'm being honest but I love her.) He also seems slow. I don't buy him as martial artist, I do buy Charlie Cox. Also, the costume in the series is better. This one looks too kinky.

I thought it wasn't all that from the very first time I seen it a few years ago.

I am the son of a man named Tom.

Yeah, it's was really nothing to brag about, especially because the Daredevil Netflix show beats it like a redheaded stepchild! The show tells the story the way it's supposed to be. Electra is supposed to be an assassin(a point the movie never stresses)and the acting is poor. Most notably, Colin Farrell as Bullseye. What a fail. The Netflix show has better acting, action and better writing. The Daredevil movie came short in every way imaginable to any Marvel movie fan who saw Spider-Man or X-Men. The Dark Knight set box office records

reply

Oh come on. I can give you acting. Even tho Vincent D'onofrio was the best thing about the first season. And I give you writing. Even tho the plot to first season was Batman Begins starched over 13 hours. But the Action was just lame. It felt like he was fighting a slice of beef the whole time. Deadpool had better action.

When I saw it the first time I thought it was OK, but I disliked the short running time, which I suspected had crumpled up the story.

When I saw the Director's Cut I knew I had been right. That's a much better movie, with a point to it: justice for all!

I still think it has flaws though. In particular, Daredevil gloating over a criminal's death (in the train station) is not right.

All up: 7. From me, that's a strong score. But it only applies to the Director's Cut.

I like it fine. Its Not Great. But at least it's Not as Sleep Inducing as the TV Show. The film is short and sweet and doesn't demand you waste 26 hours of your life. Especially you could be doing something important. Like saving the whales or some sh!t.

reply

I watched it for the first time after finishing the Netflix series season 1. Nowhere near as good as that, but it was entertaining.

I like the show more than thr movie but the movie isn't bad. Duncan is far less grotesque than D'Onofrio, but I've always viewed Fisk as a grotesque character. Movie has its moments, but the writing isn't that great. Affleck describing his suoer human senses when he was a kid was a bit lame, but i do like it. Cast was decent.

I thought I'd watch it again having watched and enjoyed the Netflix version.
I don't get why it has such a low rating on IMDb, much better than I remembered .
And that's not even the directors cut!
