I'm a long-time fan of Martin Short, but a fairly new fan of Jiminy. Nevertheless, I truly do admire this show. It is a pleasant release for me after a hard day's work. From reading some of the other threads, I understand that some people feel that he is too offensive or conceited or whatever, but I truly believe the actors/guests on the shows were very well primed in advance and are on the show for fun...some of the extreme reactions they have make the show even funnier because there is no way they could be real. The guests understand that Martin Short is playing a character, but what some viewers may not know is that the actors are often times also playing a character (perhaps in order to make fun of themselves appearing on any talk-show-like series.) In regards to Jiminy's self-centeredness in never letting the guests finish what they're saying, it is because it is only a parody and is, again, mimicking the style of a talk-show host gone wrong. Also, please note that the actors are not on the show to promote anything, simply to get a few laughs perhaps at their own expense, and in the "rare" occasion the tables are turned on Jiminy.
