While it's not mentioned in the episode, Jason still has his Power Morpher after "The Power Transfer: Part 2". Zordon himself says that with the Sword of Light, they'll be able to transfer power from Jason, Zack and Trini to Rocky, Adam and Aisha. When the new Rangers are given their own Power Morphers, the original Rangers still keep theirs as they depart the Command Center for the Peace Conference. This is also why Jason's coin isn't damaged after the six Rangers lose their Dino Coins' powers in part 1 of "Ninja Quest" and then later the Ninja coins were successfully destroyed.
I also wanted to mention that there's also a rumor that, in another version of the script, Jason would have ended up with Kimberly Ann Hart, the original Pink Ranger. This isn't a surprise to me, since they had a hinted romance in the "Turbo" movie (after all, they do go back to Angel Grove, alone, with no mention of Emily or Kim's new boyfriend... hmm...). Also, some fans consider it a possibility, since Jason is the one who mentions Kimberly at the finale when he good-naturedly counters Cole's claim Tommy is the best Ranger ever ("Are you kidding me? I was the one doing all the work while he was ay the Juice Bar kissing on Kimberly."). Who's to say that Jason wasn't dumped/broke up with his love-interest Emily sometime after "Zeo" and later been romantically linked to Kimberly?
Also, fans approve of her relationship with Jason a LOT more than what was originally intended: an original shooting script would have had a mention that Kimberly is the wife of Eugene "Skull" Skullovitch. While that's also not too surprising in a sense, since Skull has loved Kimberly and tried to date her since the pilot episode, the fans liked the idea of them remaining friends instead of learning that they got married.
But until proof surfaces of Jason and Kim's relationship in "Forever Red" exists/existed, however, take this rumor as just that: a rumor. Personally, though, I like the idea of Jason and Kim ending up together. (Imagine Tommy's reaction of his "bro" Jason ending up with his ex.)
Comments, anyone?
