Who's father is Grandpa?

Grandpa (Ricardo Montalban) is the father of one of the two parents. Who's father is he? I haven't seen this movie in a long time, and I don't feel like renting it again just to find this out. Can anyone tell me?

He is Ingrid's (Carla's) father

OK then, that doesn't make sense. In Spy Kids 3, Grandpa says that because he was injured and confined to a wheelchair for 30 years, he missed his daughter's birth and her wedding. If he was paralyzed the day before his daughter was born, and his daughter was 18 when she got married, and 19 when she had children, then that would mean that Carmen is at most 11 years old. You can't sit there and tell me that Carmen is only 11 years old!!!! This doesn't make sense, unless Grandpa is talking about a different daughter. Since we never see a different daughter, then it just doesn't jive.

Well, I know what I'm talking about. Refer back to Spy Kids 2 information.. But he definately is Ingrid's dad because there is a plotline in Spy Kids 2 about how Ingrid's dad doesn't like Gregorio. They must have just messed up what they said. There is also another thing that messes up the storyline. Carmen is like 9 in Spy Kids 1 and than later it refers her to a much older age in SK 2.. So yea I'm confused too.

Well, I wasn't trying to say that you were wrong or anything, I just thought that it was really strange. Who knows? Grandpa might have been lying to Stallone in Spy Kids 3 when he says that he missed his daughter's birth and wedding.

Where on earth do you get that Ingrid was so young that she had Carmen when she was 19 and got married at 18? They showed them falling in love and getting married and having kids- at least Carmen's birth- and they're roughly the same age as they were in the film. There was no way they were that young in which you stated they were.

I wrote that about 11 years ago, so I don't really remember. Rereading it though, the timeline is all off. He's been confined to a wheelchair for 30 years. Because of that he missed his daughter's birth and wedding. So that means Ingrid's birth, wedding, and Carmen's birth had to take place in a space of 30 years. If Carmen is 16 in Spy Kids 3, then Ingrid would have been 14 and married when she was born. Not completely unrealistic, but very improbable.

I didn't even look at the date at when you wrote that. I'm sorry.

I can vouch for that.
