Definitely the best version

I've seen all of the other various versions of The Return of the Condor Heroes, and I must say that this one is definitely the best version.

Andy Lau does an awesome job portraying the psychologically complex character of Yang Guo, and although this series deviates a bit from the book, it does so to keep the entertainment value up. Idy Chan's Xiaolongnu is a bit cold, but then again, that's how the character is supposed to be. So many memorable characters and perfect performances. And the main and sub themes sung by by Teresa Cheung (Tak Lan) are spectacular!

Also, the number of one-liners and the amount of creative trash-talk between the characters is notable.

Gotta love Jinyong/Louis Cha.

Yes, it was pretty good. I think also Legend Of Condor Heroes (82) is good.

I've been desperately searching for the soundtracks to this as well as the Legend of the Condor Heroes (1983 I believe). Any ideas on how I might be able to track them down? Willing to pay big money! :)

Yes agree. This is the best version. I just finished watching the 2006 version yesterday, and it still not as satisfying like the 1983 version. Especially the ending. The 2006 version has the main characters flying away with the condor, nowhere as good as Andy Lau and Idy Chan walking down a hillside.

I also prefer the 1983's music.
