Thinking of buying this movie
some purchases have turned out to be real jewels...but others were mediocre

How 'bout it? Is this a winner or just something to glance at while you trim the tree?

I think it's worth watching once. I wish there were more people here wanting to talk about it. I have questions. It sounds like you don't want to rent it first to see if you like it? You are either going to buy it or not? Can you catch it on TV?

It was shown on the last Christmas Eve on Hallmark channel.

I thought it was pretty good until the confused ending - the hat he found in the empty office was a take-off on the final scene in the original "Miracle on 34th Street", by the way (except in that film they found the cane that was used by "Santa")...

So, it started out as a pretty good film but seemed to lose ground towards the end...

I found it moving because I identified with the kid as I lost parents while young. Buying it might solve the problem that nobody ever shows it on cable.
