you know something...?


out of all the movies i have ever seen in any of my history classes..

this was by far the best

im use to civil war movies where when somebody gets shot, you dont see anything...well thats how the civil war movies ive seen have been


but this movie was just great...the effects were wonderful and the acting wasnt bad either

this is totally going on my list of movies i must show my students when i become a teacher :-)

watch Glory or that one scene from Cold Mountain to get bloody civil war action.

Glory is a fantastic film, story, and chunk of history.

I am not going to EVEN begin to argue that point.

However, if you really want to get a feel for what the Civil War WAS, then you watch "Gods and Generals", and "Gettysburg" back to back.

That is, if you don't watch Ken Burns' "Civil War" documentary.

Back to my point, the Shaara's (father and son) that wrote the novels that those two movies were based on ("Gods and Generals", and "Gettysburg") did some INCREDIBLE research. Almost every line of dialogue, almost every scene is based upon established, historical fact.

Check the movies out, or better, read the books.
