Reaction to the "silent film"

I was utterly bowled over by that little film within a film. It was on the verge of being comical, especially considering that it was conceived by a homosexual man. The prospect of crawling back into the womb is phantasmagorical. I guessed what was coming when the Lilliputian lover began to fondle the lady's breasts, but when I actually beheld the giant albeit sexless vagina, it was too much. It also gave away the plot in that I predicted that Benigno would have intercourse with Alicia. Any other reactions?

It was over the top but that's typical of Almodovar who does it in all of the intimate scenes. Personally I love it since it's so random and weird, it always is memorable in comparison to the 9/10 scenes in other films which are all identical.

I don't think it gave away the plot since the development of that was alicia getting pregnant and later waking up, the intercourse itself wasn't important.

I think it was more perverse than "predicting Benigno would have intercourse with Alicia". The short film was wonderfully done with the style and acting. It was a sad story and predicted Benigno's death as well.

Ever tried, ever failed?
No matter.
Try again, fail again.
Fail better.
