Corey Haim will come back!

I think everyone who downs Corey Haim should back off. Corey needs positive vibes from everyone. I think he will fully recover and will be on the A-list once again. He is so much better than alot of actors out there now. He has the ability to be in the Oscar categories and is just not another pretty face. This guy has talent!! A true fan forever----

hello i'm new on here, but anyways i was a huge corey haim fan back in the day.I did anyone see him on Vh1's 100 tv child stars? HE's FAT :O. I almost died ha. HE's HUGE. THats what happens to you when you fight the drug addiction you gain weight trying to replace it. I was shocked and just wanted to let you know he was on there.

reply

I did not see him on VH1 but I wish I did! I did see a clip on the internet though some girl interviewing him. I was not a good clip but yes he is big now! But who cares, at least he fought his drug addiction. He could have died like so many other celebs that get into the drug scene. I still love him no matter what! A lot of us have gained weight over the years and it had nothing to do with fighting a drug addiction. So let's all be supportive of him. And no this is not Corey Haim posting this!!! I am a chick that lives some where in the Boston area who is still a Corey Haim fan!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope he makes it back. He was sweet when I was a kid and "License To Drive" and "The Lost Boys" are both classics to their respective genres. I agree, it's easy to knock on him but he looks pretty toned back up on that poster for the movie. Besides who cares. Brando put on wieght.

Haim beat something NONE OF US will ever have to understand. I'm both thankful and auspicious of that.

I see Haim being one of those dudes that hot young movie directors snag up for juicy supporting roles. Tarrantino is the first one I've seen do that but I'm also from his generation so if it was done before I wasn't aware and why should I be. Haim is our generation's John Travolta, though I don't think he'll ever get that big. But look at what Tarrantino did with others like Pam Grier and...oh, his name escapes me. He was in "Medium Cool". He's a good actor and I apologize I can't remember his name. Well, I'm babbling but I just wanted to say kudos for sticking up for Corey and all you haters should back off.

reply

Yeah he did fun kid/teen movies, not like today's movies. His were memorable.

reply

I agree, when people stop smoking they gain weight too, so what, better than cancer or the effects of drugs, and they can easily change that, that's easier to deal with than if you were dead from either and not here at all.

reply

Why would you think that post was done by Corey Haim? Your a jerk and even if it was that is a good thing, means he is a positive person and knows he will come back. I hope he comes back, I love Corey Haim and always will. He just got into drugs like many other celebs and got too deep into it but is out and healthy. Leave him alone. He did make a come back any way in 2004 only one year ago dope!

He's a talent beyond question - his performance in Lucas was awesome! In that movie we got to see another side of his acting capabilities; however, I've not see all but I've see the majority of his movies and I can say we never got to see that side of him again.

Can he can back? Of course he can. Some director will be happy to put him in their movies but I don't think they are going to be A List movies.

I think Corey could make a decent living off appearing in B List movies until the day he retires . . . like the rest of you I want him to be in the next big Box Office smash.

I wish him well but in my opinion I don't think he'll scale the heights he did in his younger days. It must be frustrating for him knowing he had Hollywood by the tale so to speak but like the tagline for "8 Mile": What if You Had One Chance to Seize Everything You Ever Wanted? Would You Capture it? Or Would You Let it Slip?

I call a spade a spade but I'm always routing for the underdog!!!

EZ,
E

I think that he did a fairly interesting performace in "Lucas" but that was what - nearly 20 years ago? There are a lot of child actors who do relatively good performances who never really develop into fine actors. Most of the time, they just turn on their charm. And I just don't think that you can judge an actors skill on one or two performances.

There may be a day when Corey can return to acting on some level, but I don't see him ever doing anything more than completely forgettable films.

Anybody is capable of making a comeback if they're worth their salt as an actor and, now this part is very important---under the proper directorial guidance. Quentin proved it with Pulp Fiction, single-handedly giving Vinny Barbarino his livelihood and swagger back. Same thing with Michael Mann and what he did with Tom Cruise in "Collateral." Perhaps we should be cursing him for it, but still! The record reflects that a top-notch director can make or break any wash-up's career.

Haim was always an excellent talent. In the 90s there was a direct-to-video shlock adult thriller called "Blown Away" starring Haim and Corey Feldman and focusing on their dangerous flirtation with a wealthy contractor's manipulative and homicidal daughter (Baywatch's Nicole Eggert). The hottest thing about the movie was the feverish sex scenes, but it also showed Haim and Feldman in top form.

The script sucked and the movie was ultimately retarded, but he did a great job and showed off his acting chops. In my eyes, it established him as an adult talent, as opposed to the cute little wise aleck we remember from Lost Boys and License to Drive. He kept the shirt collar down and didn't rock any headbands. He was good. He can be good again.

It is unfair to judge a dude for gaining weight, especially when it is a result of his dedicated pursuit of sobriety. And more importantly, it is completely irrelevant to the subject at hand--his acting skills.

I'm rooting for the Coreys. They never let me down. Even when the film they're in is a total piece of spam.

Cheers,

Brokebob

I totally agree, they just need a break! So many actors hit hard times and all actors have made a few turkey's! Corey has been in some good films, not excellent but enjoyable. Corey will make a comeback,in films or whatever he chooses to do with his life I wish him luck!

reply

Well hey, man, glad that you thought he delivered a stellar performance in "Blown Away".

Can any actor be good again? I'm sure they probably can be. Are the chances of Corey getting picked up by a director on the level of Michael Mann or Quentin Tarantion strong? I doubt it.

If he gets off the drugs and stays off of them, I'm sure he'll do just fine in life.

reply

I hope so! Corey Haim is awesome. I had the biggest crush on him when I was younger (he is 7 years older than me too). I love all his movies especially Lucas! COME BACK COREY PLEASE!!!!!

reply

Corey Haim may be a good actor, but so much of acting comes from charimsa which he lost during his fight with drugs. I am sure he could gain it back, and I would cast him in some of my films when I graduate. I'd like to see what he could do with a role that was actually challenging. Honestly, the stuff Hollywood can belch up can destroy an actor's career. Lucas was good, Lost Boys I like it but I am vampire film fan. He needs to do as many indies as he can. That's where you prove your chops, he knows Hollywood, he should know this.

reply

Some of these posts crack me up! Who are these people who attest to what Corey is like? How do they know? And I'd hate to break it to people but it's not about wheter or not Corey wants to make a come back; he does. He's said so time and again. The guy would like to win an Oscar. So what? I'd like to be the father of Angelina's baby. The difference is I have a better shot than Corey does of winning an Oscar. Hollywood does not want to take a chance on him. That's reality. It's also real that for all the success Corey had, his acting didn't win him any awards. It's not like he's Travolta who could act and had a Tarantino who was dying to resurrect his career. Corey Haim is branded a drug addict. He's also BROKE. Corey probably isn't reading any of these posts because he probably doesn't even own a computer. We all saw that E! True Hollywood story where they showed his apartment that he shared with his MOTHER. He didn't even have a sofa to sit on in that one bedroom above a garage!!! That is his reality. Last I heard he is working a a record store in Toronto. So, if anyone really wants to resurrect his career, go to film school and cast Corey in a movie. Because ain't nobody else giving him a shot.

reply

He's supposed to be in a movie called "Universal Groove" this year.
Catch ya on the flip side.

reply

i saw him on vh1 this weekend, he looks like crap all fat and ugly. had a sweat band around his head. he looked so gay..

reply

If he wanted he could've ressurected his career already. He's got a name and a fanbase already established. If he had some kind of motivation at all he could easily find funding for a film. Of course this would mean he'd have to find competent people to make a screen play and direct the movie as i'm pretty sure he can't do it.

reply

He's actually in LA right now, but did do a stint in Toronto. He moved back because of some opportunities, nothing big, though. That was last year sometime. He's trying to improve his situation and has definitely come a long way from a few years back.

I wish him the best of luck. Addiction is something pretty tough to overcome, depending on the support system available.

like i said 5 years ago nobody would touch mickey rourke!! now look at him! corey has the talent and looks(if he works out a bit) to make it in hollywood again. he just needs to get out there and make as many movies as possible no matter how good or bad they are. if you make 1 good performance stand out and a director see's that, thats your 2nd chance!

I think Corey Haim CAN and WILL come back. Good for him!

Corey Haim will probably never come back. To compare him to John Travolta and Mickey Rourke is dumb. Those two actors were serious actors who just hadn't made popular movies for awhile when they "cameback" but they weren't in B-movie hell. John Travolta had worked with serious directors like Brian De Palma and Mickey Rourke was still working with top name actors and was in pretty good films all through the 90's. Corey Haim killed his career back when he was a teenager by making all those teenage movies with the other Corey. He will never make a comeback until he stops making crappy B-movies that he's a star in and takes a supporting role in better films. I'd much rather be the bartender in the next Scorcese film than the lead role in Universal Groove. But thats just me.

true story - i kid you not...last summer my friends and i were vacationing in the dominican when one of them said they met a guy from canada as well - named corey (i'm sure u know where this is going)...basically we hung out with him for a bit, asked him what he did, and he told us he was an actor, and that he'd gone out with ppl like alyssa milano, and nicole eggbert.....and we basically thought he was a delusional wannabe actor. the reason we didn't know him is b/c was born in '84 and was too young to have watched any of his child star movies.

the thing i have to say is, i didn't really get to know corey that well - but from what i saw, i don't think this guy is necessarily trying to get back out there and make it on the a-list. He was at that resort, a lil bit pudgy, listening to a discman, and we seriously thought he was like 21-25 yrs old, b/c he was dressed a lil skater-ish and "immature-looking". I think this is a guy who's prolly going out there looking for roles that interest him, and doing what he loves to do. I think he got caught up in all the glitz and glamor of hollywood, and now realizes that having a normal life is kinda cool and there's no need for drugs and all that other stuff.

it's a bit of a rambling msg - but basically, i think he's an actor who's out there doing what he actually loves and isn't really getting caught up in all the hype that ruined his life when he was younger. you go, corey haim!

reply

Eh, as strange as it sounds, if he's going to come back its gonna be soon. He seems to be on the up and up in terms of work quality and frequency. I think he's more popular than he has been in years due to TTC and the variety ad. Maybe a minor Corey Haim resurgance will happen in the next year or so. If not, I doubt it will ever happen.

I Agree!
