Where were they going from and where to?

Okay, I'm doing this movie for an assignment and I need to know. I listened to the movie and it said they were being sent to NSW, which is in Australia, but everywhere I've seen on the internet, and even on the dvd cover, said they were looking to start a new life in the US. Can someone explain this to me please, I've confused myself alot.

yeah, the cover was absolutely crap! they mustve got it mixed up with a completely different version of swiss family robinson...

anyway, i think they were going from either england or switzerland (i think england coz of the beginning trial scene) and were being shipped to a penal colony in port jackson, NSW australia. in the book and other versions theyre going to america, but thats wrong.

hope this helped! :D

Hi, Anton here, the first writer of Stranded. Before the producers ruined my draft with a half-dozen writers, the Robinson family was escaping religious persecution in Switzerland to live in America. Their ship was wrecked in the Caribbean, where the original story took place. The switch to Australia as convicts was made up probably because they shot it in the South Pacific. After my draft, none of the other writers seemed to have thought it through very well.

Thank you very much!
It really had me confused so I'm glad that's been cleared up. It really irritates me when writers make huge mistakes/not thinking things through like that, so again, thank you!

did you actually write the first draft?! wow!

i know the film changed the book quite drastically, but some of the changes were for the better, surely?

Hi Anton! Would you be THE Anton Diethers (sp?)? :D

I wondered, if you have time, if you might be willing to have a short chat about your orignal draft with either myself or my friend Random. We are two thirds of the Endymion Dreams Team and we would both love to hear from you.

If you are available at any point, please feel free to contact us. I'm so curious, too, about the other changes made to your original script! *grinz*
