The Chandelier

Henry says that Lord Ormond is very proud of the fact that the chandelier was a gift from Napoleon to Josephine after his victory at the Battle of Borodino. But Borodino took place several years after Napoleon had divorced Josephine and married his second wife, Maria Louisa of Austria. It also wasn’t a French victory. It was part of Boney’s invasion of Russia, and historians generally consider it a draw.

So is this a goof on the writers, or is it deliberate?

Like, given what a buffoon Lord Ormond is, it could be that he says it’s a celebratory gift to Josephine in order to make it seem more important than it actually is and uses just enough facts that people believe him.

Second explanation sounds the best for the sake of the movie. But I'd be willing to bet it's just a goof on the writers' part.
