Can someone explain the ending for me I never understood it.

Ending to which one? Doom Episode 1, 2, 3, 4, Doom 2, Final Doom: TnT Evilution, Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment, Doom 64, or Doom 3?

even then, there are 4 distinct episodes with an ending, assuming he/she mean's the game's original ending in Episode 3:
You kill the Spider Mastermind who was the demon who orchestrated the invasion of Phobos and Deimos. After keeping Hell at bay, you find a portal back to Earth, you arrive there thinking everything is all good, but it all changes when a city in the distance has smoke rising from the downtown area...
Episode 4 (featured in "The Ultimate Doom") acts as an interquel, bridging the gap between the end of Episode 3 (where the game originally ended) and Doom 2.
