Your prefered tactics

I like to clear out areas of all hostiles before going for my objective, to do this, I will equip a shotgun or assult-shotgun and wait around corners to jump out and blast the guards at close range before they have a chance to react then when they drop I will rush back into hiding until anybody else in the area has gone back to their positions then I will do it again til the area is clear. I suppose you could call it Hit 'N' Run tactics.

I have always wanted to try and ghost my way through the game, you know what I mean right? I mean like going through as much as possible without anybody ever knowing I was there, real stealthy like, but I don't think i could resist the temptation to pump some helpless terrorist full of shotty shells.

So what are your prefered tactics? how do you operate?

It depends strongly on what weapons, skills and augmentations I choose to use... Once I decide to pick up a weapon and keep it for a while, I usually modify it to the point that it's undeniably unique, and then I simply will not part with it, needless to say, I have many inventory space problems.

I usually make a "jack of all trades, master of none" approach nowadays, I don't specialize in anything, really, and adapt my tactics on the fly. This mostly stems from my insatiable desire to explore everything. I mean, I could specialize in certain skills and take the one path to the objective that those skills accomodate best, but that doesn't sit with me, I have to explore every route.

Silenced sniper rifle, alternate routes and hacking.
And every now and then, a GEP gun on a mech!

Since at the start you're actually meant to be law enforcement rather than military or rogue agent I went with stealth n' stun except perhaps for the MJ12 agents.

lol, every time I tried to use pepper spray I shot myself. It wasn't till I wastched the 47 minute speedrun that I saw how it was supposed to be used.

I like to be unrealistically exploratory. I love seeing how they put things in the game, and what I can play with, what secrets to be had. After a couple 24 hour plays, I'll kick things up a notch and see how fast I can go. My fastest so far is about 5 hours. Other than self-competition and goofing off, I usually stick with the assault rifle, giving sneaking a college try before giving up and blasting. Dragon's Tooth for breaking into things and dealing with nano-foes or bots.

the cloak ability + the Dragon Tooth sword makes you pretty much unstoppable

seriously, I killed both Gunther and Walter Simons so easily by just turning invisible and whacking them once with the sword it was pathetic

I may try playing the game one day with guns to make it more challenging
