2 things I love most about this movie

1. The MUSIC!!! It's all awesome. I want the soundtrack so bad.
2. The scenes where Jess's family get together like at the wedding. Maybe it's just Hollywood (I would hope not) but Indian (please forgive me if they weren't exactly Indian) people really look like they have awesome parties. As do Hispanic people also in my opinion.

wickedillusions - at your second point, yes we do have such amazing parties before weddings, but usually in the Punjabi culture. i mean we have SO many different cultures over here, so many different races, each one of them has a different tradition. and this movie is basically about a Punjabi-Sikh family. so yeah, they definitely know how to party. even i'm a Punjabi-Hindu and pre-wedding parties like these are SO very common. :D

The music was awesome and so was the wedding.

Yes! Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up" was perfect for those scenes.

-That's all the time we have, thanks for playing.

The father is a tough and strict guy but very loving towards his daughters. He said "I saw her ( Jess) play she was brilliant." He did not want her to make the same mistakes her father did "I want her to fight and I want her to win." He knew that she had a rare ability to play soccer at an elite level and by letting her go ( and be with Joe) she will get her degree at Santa Clara and then return home and make her family, community and perhaps even Country ( England) proud ( playing in big events like the Olympics and Wonen's World Cup$.

I love the way the father sticks up for Jess when she announces she wants to go to college in the States.

All lot of fathers would have kept their mouth shut and let the battle-ax mom have her way.
