He gets a job as a prison guard, but that doesn't work out, so he helps some farmer clear his crops with a sling blade, so the farmer can build a rocket. He helps with the rocket so much that NASA hires him to build a team to blow up a huge asteroid. While at NASA, he develops an advanced monitoring system to watch the shuttles in flight, but the system is later used to monitor everyone. He then retires from NASA and takes a job as a gym coach, but that doesn't pay enough, so he starts robbing banks.
