Your opinion about Vic's future

What do you think about the last scene , when Vik takes his gun ( although they have told him that he wouldnt be able to use it anymore ) Where he was going to and to do what ?

reply

That's a million dollar question

True story. I think he had a new plan for everything. To find his family and get back to the action and even save Ronnie somehow from prison.

reply

Ex-cop turns underworld fixer. Mike from Breaking Bad.

reply

Now that would rock.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

"Vic Mackey, Private Eye". Able to solve crimes without having to follow the rules placed on him by the police force!

reply

He was going out. He wasn't planning on doing anything, he know's he can't do anything, and the realization that if he DOES something he'll void his deal is the reason for the look on his face. He's in a box, and can't get out without violating the terms that are keeping him out of jail.

They told him he couldn't carry it at work, but he's leaving for the day. He's going to keep carrying it outside of work.

reply

Gotta be batman

Office guy during the day, turns in to a knight and saves Farmington at night!

reply

He's a self-described 'action hero' and his delusions are so rock solid that despite the hell he's earned himself at the end of the series he can still convince himself that somehow it's going to be OK and he's still the good guy... so three years at a desk job and lots of lonely days/nights.

reply

I thought the series ended?

As others mentioned, Vic is allowed to have a personal firearm he is just not to carry it openly during work hours in the office.

But what happens to Vic longer term? I guess the easy answer is that Vic does okay, does his stint with ICE and then finds something else. Private security, consulting work for agencies, etc.

But I think Vic is not as clever as he thinks he is. We saw time and again how his plans failed, and if he came out smelling okay it was partly due to dumb luck. So I think the easy answer may not be the 'correct' one.

I think Vic probably failed to mention something when he gave his confession. I mean, he had a lot to confess and I bet he forgot something, or left some detail out. Ronnie also wants to get revenge on Vic. Olivia wants to take away Vic's immunity. Ditto for Aceveda and Claudette. Any of them might have an idea about something Vic failed to confess to, and if Ronnie provides details now then who knows what might happen.

We know Vic stole evidence, i.e. Olivia's file (also Aceveda's). Olivia and Aceveda know this. Vic never confessed to this in his deal. If Olivia can swing her own immunity deal, she could yank Vic's immunity deal based on this. Aceveda could back Olivia up.

Also, if Vic starts hunting down his family in witness protection (or whatever program they were relocated under) then presumably that would be interfering with police business and would allow Olivia to yank the immunity deal. I don't see Vic leaving his family alone.

So I think there are people looking to take Vic down, there are ways to do it now, I think Vic eventually goes to prison.

reply

Balducci2, I agree with your viewpoint. There's no way Vic's immunity deal is watertight enough for it to hold up indefinitely. You'd think that Vic would start working on his exit strategy pretty much right away. He'll need to run for it very soon.

reply

To me it felt like he ain't gonna make three years of writing daily reports about nothing with nothing to provide for no ultimate goal really.

SHAWN RYAN: After the series ended, I came up with an idea and pitched it to Jim Gianopulos and Alex Young at Fox. The idea was about a young cop who enters the drug gang culture of L.A. and becomes frustrated by his inability to take it down. He becomes obsessed with the idea of bringing some justice to the situation. He then starts hearing whispers of somebody who used to be a cop and might be of service to him. And that's Vic Mackey. So Jim Gianopulos was, like, "Well, maybe—what do you think, Alex?" And Alex, who was a big Shield fan, said, "I love it, I think we should do it." And then, before the deal-making ever got done, Alex was gone.

reply

Duh...Vic assumed a new identity, became a truck driver, and murdered Jax Teller.

reply

THAT is excellent!
I hope he backed up over him for good measure, "Ya gotta make sure!"
