Question on ending SPOILER

Saw this last night at a friend's house and am unlikely to see it again for a while, so tell me ...

*SPOILER*

At the end, Hana bumps into a character that is leaving to live with the character's parents. I didn't notice if they took the stairs or not. Did they?

Good movie.

I appreciate the response.

At some point, I may get the dvd somewhere and look it over again, just to settle this one point. It's always a good point in a movie's favor if the side characters manage to grow during the story and move on with their lives.
