Lucy's feet in ''Mayflower Voyagers''

How come in this episode Lucy has black feet throughout the episode? Everyone else who is barefoot has normal coloring and she's shown as having toes instead of wearing shoes. The black coloring makes it look like Lucy has some infection and they need to be amputated.

The animators seemed to either have trouble with Lucy's feet or just didn't care. In a ten second span, I saw her feet go from barefoot and black, then in shoes, then morphed into something that looked like the feet of a duck, and then back to being barefooted and black.

I remember watching this when it first aired and being totally distracted by things like that. And I didn't see the point in putting the Peanuts Gang in a history lesson.

I've been wondering the exact same thing...except to me, it looks like Franklin's feet (You remember Franklin... the token black kid?) were slapped on Lucy's body. Seriously... what's up with that??? 😛

The error is acknowledged in the Peanuts Wiki.

Saw this on TV the other day and came here specifically to ask this question. I couldn't figure out if it was just a mistake, or if Lucy's feet were really dirty, or if she was supposed to be wearing some sort of dark stockings I wasn't familiar with that were common in the day.

It's very distracting. I know the animation on this one is pretty shoddy, but it's hard to believe that no one noticed this, or that they allowed it to go through like that.
