What happened to Kestrel?

Whatever happened to Kestrel? She (who actually looked like a he) just vanished from the start of Series 3. Did she die? I am not upset, annoyed or anything, just wondering what happened to her and her annoying "kee kee."

The book explained that s/he (Kestrel is male in the books) flew away to another park to hunt without risking killing Farthing Wood animals, like she did to Mrs Fieldmouse
