In which world is Mike Leigh living?

I have to say that this movie was some sort of a freak show that couldn't be more unrealistic. It was hard to imagine that a family like this ever existed: A slim mother with two extremely fat children. Very unbelievable that the mother got a nervous breakdown when the son got a heart attack when noone seemed to care of eachother before. It also wasn't told the son before that being so fat is a big risk.
The two psycho girls of the other familys + the women who is so drunk that she can't even hold a telephone topped the game.

I have to say that I liked other films of Mike Leigh very much, for example "Bleak Moments".
