Forget the movie. Read her autobiography instead,"Story of a Soul". Much better experience, and it will give you an understanding of why she is a saint and a doctor of the church. A good read for those of all faiths. It is very inspiring and personal.

For the average person (someone like me who is not a Theologian, etc.), the movie is fine - Pope John Paul II (now himself on the road to sainthood) gave his endorsement after seeing it, so I'd take the word of a saint or future saint any day...

As a former TOC. Illness prevents me from the required meetings. I agree with you.
As some may not know John Paul II was a TOC.
Artistically the film could have been much better; but Defillipis tried.
