This film was on television yesterday afternoon, a few days after Bob died, and it was great seeing it again. Brought back a lot of comforting childhood memories. It would be fabulous if the DVD was re-released, I'm sure great sales would be made if they did it before christmas.

I hear ya... I copied it to VHS when it was shown back in 2001. It's hard to believe it's been 5 years already.

reply

I also copied back in 2001.. only problem I have now is finding the dang tape it's on! :D hahaha..

LOL - story of my life! I've always tried to mark tapes and DVDS for the shows but still end up not knowing where several taped shows and movies are on the tapes!

reply

MIne, I am happy to say, is marked. Now if I could only remember where I put it.

Is the DVD even for sale in stores?

reply

Good question. I will go see at Barnes and Noble.. when I get the chance!

I just picked up the DVD today at a video store in Manhattan. Purchased it for 18.99, I knew it was out of print and it sells on Amazon.com, where I sell my Out of Print DVD's also, it going for between $60 to upwards of $95!! Check out my storefront if you like. On Amazon.com go to the dvd section, then fill in any title dvd you might be looking for. My tag is RPDEVO2. I'll have that gilligan's island movie on there for sale!

reply

So expensive. I'll have to pass. I can live with the fictional stuff.

reply

The DVD is out of print and not on sale in stores. Used copies are on Amazon and such and perhaps on some Gilligan cast members' web sites.

I doubt highly that this will be re-released and I was involved in looking into it ( long story). The demand just isn't big enough. I think the DVD was really mostly a promotional tie-in with the movie when it aired.

So in the meantime, it's floating around the net on Amazon, E-bay, etc.

I bought my copy at a Hollywood Video that was closing a year before the entire chain shut down. I think I paid $5 for it.

reply

Thanks to torrents I've found the moive. Watching it now. Pretty good.

Hollywood executives don't like it they can re-release it already.
