6.3 rating? was is deserved?

OK I realize that everyone who rates a movie will have certain biases and with the project greenlight there are even more chance since a lot of people saw the series.
I watched the series for the most part and thought it was an interesting view of the action behind the camera, but while I was watching it I realized that they were trying to hype the movie.
Now,wether you hated the movie or loved it do you think it deserved the rating you gave it or did you add a few or deduct a few ranks because of your biases?

What on earth are you talking about? Of course movie-viewers like or dislike movies based on personal biases... what else is there? Your masterpiece might be my bottom-of-the-barrel. To actually ask people to go back & re-think their ratings because you didn't like the film, or you thought it was over-rated, is absolutely ridiculous. It's called "personal preference" - perhaps you've heard of it?

Personally, I've never seen the film - sounds interesting and since I've been watching Project Greenlight 2 this season, I'll probably try and find it somewhere. Maybe 6.3 was deserved, maybe not, maybe it should be higher - I'll be the judge of that for myself and so should all of you.

I personally feel that this was a pretty good movie. I also think that it was a really good scripte, and great concepts. I personally don't feel this movie should ahve recieved 6.3, but hey, it happens.

when i was watching the series in England it looked to me that Pete Jones didn't have a clue what he was doing. I mean if you want to be in the film industry wouldn't u at least have some knowledge and interest in it. It seemed to me he didn't know what was going on at the time. And honestly was that the best script?

I will give you an honest answer, but I would like an honest one in return.
In reviewing my vote, I think I tended to move my vote up a notch from where I feel it should have been. In reviewing, the work that went into making the movie on a low budget with people who were less experienced, I feel that I cut some slack and allowed for a less than "heavy handed" rating criteria.

Now my honest question to you: why did you find it necessary to post this exact same topic twice in a row. Was there any sort of bias at work here?

reply

Ok firstly, I only bought this because Bonnie Hunt was in it (although I saw it a while back but didn't remember it).
Secondly, I loved this film, it made me cry, it made me laugh..
Thirdly, my only criticism is that early on when the fire is burning the Rabbi's house, the camera shakes around too much.. and it just sort of reminded me that this was an amateur made film. I think it should have received more than 6.3.
