to many questions/plot holes but still good

I never think too much about a movie anyway but when i found out the real scam Ben was pulling there was a whirl wind of doubts about the story working out the way he wanted it to. One question is, how did he know for sure Ricky wouldn't be killed by the gang? He didn't expect the FBI to be there either but they ended up making the story tie up perfectly so what was that all about? Theres just a lot of stuff like that. I liked it though.
Another good one is Foolproof with Ryan Rynolds. It goes from funny to dead seriuos but I liked the turn of mood.

Also, when ricky told ben the lion story why did ben all of the sudden look like he had an idea when he already had the whole thing planned. Another problem is why did the bad guy have a safe right under the one he wanted to be robbed. That seems a little too convenient for a easier story. Also since the statue was really there then why did they all react like it wasn't & why did Jeffrey pass out from panic if he was in on the real plan? By the real plan, Jeffrey would have got the statue out & then would have lied to ricky that it wasn't there so he'd run & tell ben. Then Ben acted surprised as hell but he knew the statue was really there. It doesn't add up.

this is a pretty late reply, but i just saw the movie so thats why. but as for your question, he didnt have the whole thing planned. the "plan" was the original plan of stealing the statue from the bank and giving it to that bad guy. its just things didnt go according to plan and Ben made changes to the plan. In the end it all worked out
