What is the difference between the VHS and DVD?

According to the format screen in the 2003 VHS, apparently the movie was edited for content...
what is the difference.

I've owned both VHS and DVD and there aren't any differences that I can think of?

Most commonly it's the Aspect Ratio. Signs isn't in the 2.35-2.40 range but even the 1.85 Widescreen was cropped to 1.33(1.66) Full Screen(Full Frame) Ratio for TVs. I own a bunch of VHS and that's almost always the Case. Scenes get cropped, the whole "Pan and Scan" crap happens and on many films, it goes virtually unnoticed... It's the 2.35 Ratio that really got screwed. Some scenes are completely off and obviously at the time we never cared because it's all we knew.

No it can't be that because even then the aspect doesn't cut everything out. Apparently something got cut out in the VHS.

"Edited for content" means either scenes were cut or curses were bleeped.
