1. Why are there no guns in the house? Sure he used to be a reverend but he's now a farmer and there may be wild animals. A gun is essential to protect his young children.

2. Aliens can create technology for interstellar space travel across light years, but they can't break a door open?

3. Why didn't Mel Gibson report the alien in Rey's pantry to the authorities so that the authorities could experiment on it? And the alien wouldn't be back for revenge.

4. Who let the alien out of the pantry, since aliens cannot open doors?

5. Speaking of revenge, is the alien stupid? The alien troops left, and it decided not to leave with the troops to seek revenge for its 2 fingers, knowing that it will die eventually? Its life VS revenge, it's pretty obvious an intelligent being would choose to live.

6. The coal grate is blocked with dog food. The aliens, which are super strong, can't push it aside?

7. As the boy was having an asthmatic attack, the girl said, "I saw this in my dream." WOW, that must be the most irritating sentence in the history of film. It made me want to slap the girl. Is the director trying to put people off childbirth?

This is a ridiculous film, not to mention that there is no chemistry between the actors at all. I read a comment saying it should be compulsory for film students. Are you *beep* me? Poor acting, lousy script, bad directing, mawkish.

1. Legit point, but to be fair, I got the impression that the farm wasn't really in the middle of nowhere. There where probably other households nearby, so dangerous wild animals maybe weren't very common. Also, they had two dogs. Given the fact he used to be reverend, Ican accept the fact, that he didn't have any guns.

2. Maybe it's such a strange and unknown concept for them, they can't figure it out right away... Don't know, but I'm not very bothered by this.

3. Maybe the phone broke down? Maybe he thought it was hoppeles?

4. Maybe his fellow aliens? Maybe he figured out on his own after all?

5. If it was his fellow aliens who let him out of the pantry, maybe he chose to stay there and take a revenge. or maybe body mutilation was a huge shame and no-no for them, who knows. Or maybe he figured his way out of the pantry on his own, but it was too late.

6. Maybe they just decided *beep* it" and moved on to easier targets. Maybe they got somehow scared.

7. I don't get this point. What is so unbelievable about the girl having a dream of her brother having asthmatic attack?

Seriously, none of these are really plot holes, just things that weren't explicitly explained, but that doesn't mean they can't make sense under some circumstances. Do people really need to have everything spoonfed to them?

You have a talent with pointing out flaws but can you take that same enthusiam and observation over into film making to create something better?

The whole pantry door criticism is actually the stupidest thing ever. The alien can break through the pantry door as we see it at the end so it clearly broke out of it.

Hey, to be fair, he's had a career resurgence. Several of his recent films and TV projects have been well-received and made a considerable amount of money.
