'Taxi' Scene + $200 arrest

Hi,

just watched the movie last night and really enjoyed it.

There were a couple of points, though, that I missed out on if someone could help me out (sorry if these are really obvious and I just fell asleep or something ;-):

1. the scene in the taxi (which wasn't a real taxi but some guy wanting to make some money) where the driver makes a stop, then Mahowny gets panicky and takes out all the money rolls from his pockets and throws them on the floor of the car - why? If he thought he was about to be robbed, what good would this do?

2. at the end he gets arrested on account of stealing $200 - I must of missed which $200 that was, and why they didn't mention the $10 mil rather than just $200

thanks,

1. He panicked, people do strange things, also he thought he was going to be robbed so he thought stashing it under the seat would hide the money if the driver or whoever searched him (so they wouldn't find it on him.)

2. I suppose the $200 arrest is/was the law - they don't have an arrest type for more than $200, so if it's over this amount the policy would be to just say "$200+". Although that does seem unusual as he did steal 10m practically.

Gave it a 10/10, excellent film.

2. they said- "you are under arrest for theft OVER 200 dollars". that usualy means its a different charge, regardless of the 10 mil, if you steal more than 200 dollars they can charge you with a felony, if it is under a certain amount, it is a misdimenor. (i think it is closer to 500 dollars now but i am not sure).

I would still have liked to know how this scene concluded, in terms of what happened with his money and so on.
