not as good as desperado

to me i think that desperado was well made and had proper western action in it but once upon a time in mexico seems to go over the top a little bit. not that there is nothing wrong with that but some of the action scenes such as el mariachi jumping off the balcony with carolina would have been a little to deadly in the real world. the last film was aimed at a different generation of kids and this one is based on todays generation of kids which are now just interested in exciting action but i think that the action in this sequel is a little to exciting than the previous one. if this film was made in the 90s it would have been as good as the first one.

I don't think the action's too over the top to be honest. They were already doing crazy stunts and unrealistic action sequences in Desperado. The thing that hurt the movie was the disjointed plot and too many characters. Which sucks, as it could have been a definite classic along the lines of Desperado.
