I agree completely Behemothic. Ironically, as it is a Rodriguez film, the plot is actually the most interesting thing about the film and the action is very poor indeed. With the exception of Sin City (and the action in that is nothing special but the 'coolness' of the rest of the film lets it get away with it) OUATIM is the film that started Rodriguez on his badly filmed action spree which has continued through Planet Terror and Machete. It's hard to believe it's the same guy who made Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn.
I would like to have seen this story told in a more laid back manner with real attention paid to character motivations. Add 45 mins more to the running time, cut half of the action scenes (and focus on making them good) and this could have been an epic.
Formerly AD655321 I'm just a bloody normal bloke, a normal bloke who likes a bit of torture.
And what's wrong with the action scenes? Nothing... The church shoot out was pretty decent and so was the marketplace shoot out. You guys must like plots more than action..
