Defies expectation and still delivers

This movie felt like more of a look at Dahmer as a person and the struggle he dealt with that ultimately led to his demise. It's low rating is obviously from immature people who just want to see people get killed. I really think this hit it out of the park and Jeremy Rener, this was his breakthrough performance.

Agreed, though honestly people on IMDB in general don't know how to properly rate films like this, or horror for that matter.

I think it's a great film.

Totally agree, a serial killer film without rivers of blood is just asking for a low rating from the people on imdb. This top notch film probably has a lower rating on here that the fast and furious, all 12 of them.

I agree.

Even though this film isn't a total bloodbath, it's a very interesting character study. And Jeremy Renner did such an excellent job portraying Dahmer. For the people who are expecting a film about endless killings and violence, sorry to say, you'll be disappointed. But like I said...a great character study. This film really takes you inside the mind of Dahmer in an eerie way. What I always found so creepy about this film, is how it actually makes you feel sorry for Jeff. Another thing I should mention is how strange it is to see an actor like Jeremy Renner playing such a dark character, due to how famous and successful he's become over the years. But out of all the films he's done, Dahmer is the one I'll always remember him for.
