ok so mr mcnally was really the dad and hired jerry to kill albert's mom? if this is right, i thouhgt he loved her or did he just want the money

Yes, Mr Mc Nally (played by Bruce Dern) was really Albert's dad. He hired Jerry (Randy Quaid) to kill her. It is implied that he did not want the money at all but rather because he was a bit misguided and wanted to free Albert from her tyrannical grip and also because she refused to let him (Mc Nally) tell Albert he was his father.
