'Hey Jonesy' . . . 'If that really eez your name.'

I don't get this. Can someone explain why they said it, and why they all cracked up about it, please? I liked the movie as a movie, less as an adaptation from the novel, but this line eludes me -- meaning I don't remember it from the book and my copy is in my brother's footlocker in Qatar.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, I've been wondering that for years and no one I know can tell me either. Waiting with bated breath for the answer, lol.

I thought that was probably the most intimate line between all the characters.

Because it was obviously an inside joke between them, that showed how close they all were and was just an example of the all different experiences they had together.

If you heard my friends and I speaking and one of us said "That's why you're an *beep* we would all start laughing and you would have no idea what we were laughing about, cause it usually concerns one of us being able to perform a certain task the rest of us, for some usually stupid reason, can't. And it's always something very easy like lighting a cigarette using the lighter in your car.

It is an example of their long friendship.

Think about it, I'm sure you and your friends laugh at some pretty abstract joke that only you and your friends get.
