I haven't seen most of this movie but i remember one scene were ty adam's is talking to someone toward the end of the movie and he says"I was just trying to hook you up.Show you the ins and outs of the place."Does anybody remember why he said this in the movie to ty adams?I can't remember.
shareBasically, the hospital was a dual gateway containing both lies and the truth. Satan's job was to play on his ego, and Right-eye (Sinbad's) job was to make him see the truth. Ty walked into hell with both eyes wide open, as he refused to acknowledge the fact that he did make mistakes; and there was the fact that he had damaged his daughter as a patient and could not facel that blemish until the Cheryl incident.
Sinbad was the subordinate or humble man, and Dr. Delazo was the Prince of the realm. God is always with the humble, but on earth we tend to worship the proud and often fail to realize the bad direction into which they can lead us. Ty set out to prove that nobody needed medicine to recover from schizophrenic disease, when science has proven time and time again that some schizoid behavior is linked to chemical imbalance. Delazo played on his weakness as a man to set out to disprove what he knew to be the truth.
Just to build on your thoughts:
In the movie, Sinbad's character is called "Right Eye" and if you catch a look at his eyes in the last scene, his right eye is pale, suggesting that it has been damaged. This is in line with something said by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount. Different translations use different words, of course, but the passage I am referring to talks about the idea that it's better to get rid of a part of your body and enter heaven maimed than to go to hell whole. "If thy right eye offend thee, put it out."
