A few more that haven't been mentioned:
Exorcist III: Some of the characters of the original return, though played by different actors (except Jason Miller). Well done IMHO.
Exorcist IV: The Beginning: The prequel to the original. Father Merrin's first battle with Pazuzu--in Africa. Wild special effects, some good writing, some bad, some good acting, some bad. Can't say it's dull, though! There's the "original prequel" too, Dominion: Exorcist IV, which was supposedly too subtle for Hollywood and got canned (why am I not surprised?) but is out on DVD.
The Calling: A British sleeper that should have gotten more attention. OK, so it combines elements of both The Omen and Rosemary's Baby. It's well acted, suspenseful, atmospheric and has some gorgeous locations on the Isle of Wight.
The Ninth Gate: Another film aiming to be more psychological thriller than horror movie. I think after such a l-o-n-g, gradual build-up of tension, you need more of a payoff to be satisfied, but just MHO. Johnny Depp is good, though.
