Don;t get it?

The one guy is so desperate to get off the boat he uses a flare gun to try to get the attention of a passing helicopter to "rescue" him. Though, the flare hits the chopper and it crashes into the ocean. The next morning they rescue the survivors, which turns out to be the "Swedish Sun Tanning Team".

Because the movie only uses gays for laughs. It's meant to be a farce for straight people to laugh at, which means there has to be tons of unrealistically hot women....thus, a flimsy plot device.
