Best Songs on 'Scrubs'?

In my opinion, 'Scrubs' had some of the greatest songs in television history. What were your favorites?

reply

They way they did "Overkill" got my attention enough to start watching the show. "Waiting for my Real Life to Begin" was heart-wrenching. "Blue" by the Jayhawks is one of my favorite songs so it really caught my attention when I heard it on the show.

reply

More Than A Feeling by Boston, maybe.

reply

Do they have a "vomiting" emoticon on here?

I'm so fuqking sick of Boston. They are so over-played and every song sound exactly like every other song of theirs.

reply

But it worked perfectly for the airband story while tying into the main story in the episode.

reply

True. But it still doesn't mean the song isn't way over played nor that it sucks.

reply

I liked that one.

I also like Barbara Ann.

reply

I have a few actually.

Most of the good songs come from the best episodes of the show.
My Lunch for example, The Fray with How To Save a Life, that one gets me every single time.

I also love the times that they used New Slang of The Shins in season 1.

I loved More Than A Feeling and watched the episode again after Neil Flynn sang to it in an episode of The Middle.

When I saw that on The Middle, I had a good chuckle imagining scores of Scrubs fans sitting bolt upright in recognition.

In answer to the OP's question: Hallelujah, How to Save a life, 99 Red Balloons, and Winter. I also loved those cheesy A cappella numbers by Ted's group: the Worthless Peons! (Name still makes me laugh.)

No one remembers 'Hey Julie' from one of the episodes featuring Mandy Moore?

Totally agree. Hey Julie is also my favorite.

yup . that .Thats the scrubs theme as far as im concerned

How to Save a Life (during My Lunch) always gets to me, as does I Will Follow You Into the Dark (during the episode where JD and Turk give up steak night to sit with the dying man) and the one playing during Ben's funeral (I forget the name). I really loved their arrangement of the Sesame Street theme song during My ABCs, as well.

I also really liked the song playing in season 8 when JD is realizing that things will have to change when he moves away. I think it is called Winter Song, and it is playing when he gets the call from Turk that he can't make it to hang out because Izzy is going to be alone. It was such a sad moment because you can kind of see JD realizing that their friendship is never going to be the same as it was (even though there isn't any doubt that it will stay strong). It wasn't the saddest moment or most emotional one by far, but it stuck with me.

all you mentioned, Allie, plus 'Holding On Hope' by Guided by Voices from Season 1, 'Hallelujah' from My Old Lady(damn song makes me tear up whenever i hear it now! Thanks, Scrubs!), 'One Thing', by Finger Eleven, both Joshua Radin songs, the one in the cemetary at Ben's funeral (which I think is called Winter) and Closer. This show introduced me to so many new bands and songs, it's amazing! Joshua Radin is very talented.

Also, Koyaanisqatsi, by Philip Glass! ๐Ÿ˜™

Which episode had Koyaanisqatsi?

Damion Crowley
Who knows but that, on the lower frequencies, I speak for you.--R.E.

reply

It's actually "Hold On Hope."

reply

The song playing during Ben's funeral is "Winter" by Joshua Radin. I agree, it's quite beautiful; I downloaded it immediately after watching the episode.

reply

'Steak night' by JD and Turk lol, season 8.

reply

"Guy Love!"

Turk even had it as his ringtone one or two eps after My Musical! lol

reply

99 luftballons.

reply

I liked "Easier to Lie" from the ep. "My Urologist"

reply

Definitely Tell Her This, by Del Amitri.

Its not only a beautiful song, but it was used in such a beautiful and heartbreaking way. It was in that episode in which JD and Elliott had become friends with benefits and JD tries to make more out of this but Elliott blows him off.
