In an episode in the 3rd season Nick is on a drug deep blue mystic and he has helucination of this woman he is trying to help that really turns out to be his mom i think that died of a drug problem when he was younger that was one of the best episodes i have ever seen eben had that Kate Bush song in it Woman's Work
shareNicks mum was played by Glenn Headley. she didnt die from drugs, she died from cancer. she didnt tell nick she was ill and had his stuff sent to burtons house and she just disappeaered from his life until she was too ill to stop him from seeing her in the hospital.
she did battle drink and drugs which was one reason she left burton, he was also seeing other women and treated her terrible.
but it was a very good episode
